I thought there was an interview in The Library which tied together Ice skating, black crow, Cranston, River, the Hejira cover & Bernstein. No joy. I thought maybe it was in the liner notes of "Songs Of A Prairie Girl" but there was no joy there either.

There are little pieces of the story in many places but nowhere are they all pulled together in one essay.

I wonder if Joel would write an article to tie all if these pieces together for the online community?  I'm keen to hear about it because it shows us the recurring theme between the song River, the harsh winters in Maidstone, Joel's pre-vision as a photographer, Joni's escapism through physical activity and art, etc.  These topics also touch on the figure skating in the Shadows And Light video, the too-brief video of Joni skating in Woman Of Heart And Mind, and Joel Bernstein's action shots in the artwork of SOAPG. There is a lot to tie together. I have dibs on it, if Joel doesn't want it.

sue, I'm on my phone so I can't look it up easily. My memory is that the
skating video was part of Shadows And Light edition on LaserDisc and DVD, but
was not part of the VHS edition in the US.
Do I have that right, Simon?
