But of the more "mainstream" (if any could truly be called such) Joni music, I truly don't care much for Jungle Line! I have to say though that I find most everything that she's done finds its way inside my head eventually and I can't get it out...and by then, I'm addicted! Lol! Insidious, creeping song writing! :D Maybe the issue vines more from airplay. I love the music of Stevie Nicks but anything that's been top 40, I can hardly tolerate...they just ran it into the ground. BYT...similar! I recall back in the days when they'd advert her shows on radio, they'd always sample Clouds and BYT. :( Sent from Confunction Junction on my iPhone On Sep 27, 2012, at 4:58 PM, owner-joni-digest@smoe.org (JMDL Digest) wrote: > > JMDL Digest Thursday, September 27 2012 Volume 2012 : Number 1473 > > > > ========== > > TOPICS and authors in this Digest: > -------- > BYT and other hippie songs [Betsy ] > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2012 13:57:28 -0700 > From: Betsy > Subject: BYT and other hippie songs > > Big Yellow Taxi is one of the few Joni songs that you still hear in public. And it tops my list of songs that I wish she could unwrite. Maybe its the only song on my list....there are less popular songs I could do without, but they aren't foisted upon me at the pizza parlor. > > As for other disliked signature JM songs, Woodstock has its place in history. Chelsea Morning is also pretty corny, but Joni sings it so beautifully. Judy Collins' version is awful. For a long time, I thought I hated Both Sides Now and The Circle Game, but now I feel like they are deservedly classic. > > Does anyone else have songs they just hate?
