I've never really understand what "quadrophonic" meant (four sounds, literally), so, is it possible that, listening to this on my crappy(ish) Mac speakers, it could really and truly sound better? I'm hearing the strings section much better, for example, and the piano sounds more "real" somehow. Of course, for years, people have been saying that the "Court and Spark" album always sounded too flat. I've never owned a good sound system, so I'm kind of used to the concept of "Good enough is best." >________________________________ > From: "simon@icu.com" >To: joni@smoe.org >Sent: Monday, September 17, 2012 1:01:19 PM >Subject: Quad C&S in Stereo (2 Songs) > >Quadraphonic LPs, played in Stereo, often offer interesting variations to the >2-Channel Stereo Mix. > >Check out "People's Parties" and "The Same Situation" from the Quad COURT And SPARK album. > > > > >There's a little surprise. It's much faster. The bass is up in the mix and the track is also much more compressed and modern sounding sonically. The Same Situation sounds like the same take but with a whole different approach to the reverb, which is much wetter. The strings are further back in the mix and enter later. I'm sure there are more differences but that was what I heard after one listen. Very nice to have these Simon. Thank you. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 18 Sep 2012 13:59:10 -0400 From: simon@icu.com Subject: Re: Quad C&S in Stereo (2 Songs) On Sep 18, 2012, Eaton, Shari wrote: > For some reason I'm getting a redirect to 'not found'. I can't even access the site to send any additional material. Hopefully it's a temporary issue. I Just got the following message" "YouSendIt Is Currently Experiencing Issues Something went wrong but rest assured our team is on it and will have everything back to normal in no time." Save the message (below) and link and hopefully it will be fixed later today or tomorrow. NOTE: The audio file is too large to be sent via my eMail server. It's also too large for gMail. Sorry 'bout the problem, but there's nothing I can do right now. andmoreagain, - - - - - - - - - - simonM On Sep 17, 2012, at 10:01 AM, simon@icu.com wrote: > Quadraphonic LPs, played in Stereo, often offer interesting variations to the > 2-Channel Stereo Mix. > > Check out "People's Parties" and "The Same Situation" from the Quad COURT And SPARK album. > > > There's a little surprise.
