She definitely has her own sound, I can tell just by the piano chords when it's her. Bob ________________________________ From: Betsy To: joni@smoe.org Sent: Saturday, September 15, 2012 11:05 AM Subject: Fiona Apple NJC I've listened to Fiona Apple's new album a couple of dozen times now, and the more I listen, the more I like it. Unusual rhythms, Native American-inspired chanting and drums, dissonance, odd metaphors, rounds (with her sister), background screams...they're all there. Anyone else heard it? We are fans. I wouldn't ask her about her bowling, grand kids, cats. I've only briefly met her once, just to say hello. From those who I know who've had longer conversations with her, she pretty much controls the conversation. For those who "might" get to meet her, I'd say just tell her how much her music, writing, and artistry has meant to you. If it gets further than that, let it just flow. >> I don't necessarily disagree with Paul, but I very much disagreed with Paul's tone in his initial response. That aside, to each their own during a conversation with Joni. Whatever flows, flows. Besides, right here, in this forum, we are just sharing our thoughts and ideas about what might happen "if" -- and it's a pretty big "if." There is no harm in dreaming, and in sharing those dreams with our friends here. I hope that all of you who plan to go have a great time. Really I don't think topics of conversation will be an issue. Joni is not a woman of a few words. Bon Voyage! Cindy Sent from my iPad. Maybe some ideas for a benefit concert with proceeds going to Morgellons Disease activism and scientific research. Or see her favorite movie, Sister Kenny starring Rosalyn Russell and strike up a conversation about that. Just saying'. Joni is always interested in a discussion on these topics. Joni has not mentioned her interest in cats to me. Dogs yes. She has a very unruly Jack Russell terrier puppy. I throw this question out to all the JMDL knitters..........are most of the 'knits' you wear your own? In general do knitters give other knitters things they knit? Or would that be considered a "Faux Pas" ...not cool? Would you, as one who knits, buy already knitted clothing? Or knit something yourself, that you saw and liked instead? Is it safe to assume that most of Joni's knitted items.......dresses, vests, purse, hats, etc........her own creations?
