We're not best friends with Joni. We are fans. I wouldn't ask her about her bowling, grand kids, cats. I've only briefly met her once, just to say hello. From those who I know who've had longer conversations with her, she pretty much controls the conversation. For those who "might" get to meet her, I'd say just tell her how much her music, writing, and artistry has meant to you. If it gets further than that, let it just flow.
