Also, Joni's always been a cat lover, so maybe her pets would be a good topic too. And she loves bowling, gardening, cooking and playing pool. Allow me, please, to recard my suggestion on how to approach a first conversatwith Joni. Take Two: As a longtime journalist with an interview style that is often complimented by the subjects of my interviews (and someone who had a successful if too brief one-on-one conversation with Joni several years ago in Atlanta), I would encourage you to open a conversation by talking about some aspect of her music, or perhaps her art, the main reasons why you are a fan and want to talk to her. Try to be creative with your questions without being too obscure. If she responds and re-directs the conversation toward her cats or bowling or the weather or politicas or whatever, fine. But it owuld be unwise to open with anything except the main theme, as noted above. To put it in an allegory, don't ask about butterflies in Brazil, start with "the birds and the bees, please!"
