Also, Joni's always been a cat lover, so maybe her pets would be a good topic too. And she loves bowling, gardening, cooking and playing pool. Then you can always ask how she's been feeling (but not sure if that's too personal). But somehow I don't think it will be a problem. That piece Jane Fonda wrote a few months ago indicates that Joni loves to talk and jumps right into a conversation! It was also a HUGE hit. There's a distinction between singles and hits. Joni's had a number of singles, some better choices than others. She's only had ONE top 20 hit. You Turn Me On peaked at #25. I'm not saying that you can judge the QUALITY of the music by the chart position ("Disco Duck" went to #1), just that Joni was not inclined to write HITS, and that's a good thing for us all. It reminds me of the random signs put up in the workplace..."if you spill, clean it up", "if you take the last cup, make a new pot", etc. People that do do, and them that don't, don't. One factor might be that so many folks are posting to the list via smartphones now. I don't have one, so I can't attest to the ease/difficulty of trimming posts, revising subject lines and all that. In the PC/laptop world, it's a breeze but may not be as such in the ipad/phone world. What's her latest knitting project? Her hands and fingers have truly been blessing........writing, music, painting, and the colorful art of knitting. I bet not too many people ask her about that! Who on the JMDL are knitters? Laura ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Sep 2012 08:56:39 -0400 From: Phyliss S Ward Subject: Re: JMDL Digest V2012 #1316 NJC I'll go one step further...
