Joni Mitchell: Live in Concert, Shepherd's Bush, West London, England (1970) http://thesixtiesarchive.blogspot.com/2010/12/joni-mitchell-live-in-concert-s hepherds.html While watching this concert I kept thinking she looked the happiest I'd ever seen her. She has such an incredible sense of peace and a wonderful glow in her eyes. I considered it a bit before resting on the fact that it was the time when she and Graham were living together. When you listen to "My Old Man" you can just see the giddiness in her face. She'd found real love! When she mentioned in an interview how hard it was to break it off with him but felt it was necessary for her art, for some reason I didn't wholly believe her. I guess because I knew of the many relationships she'd had I just didn't see how it could've mattered that much. But now I really do believe her and, especially considering she kept their house for so many years, am sad he didn't take her up on the memory lane excursion. I imagine he was with someone and didn't want to jeopardize what he had going on with them. This is a great concert if you're in a Joni appreciating mood: Lots of Joni, Shari ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2012 #1204 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
