Your husband got it right from the start! It was my very favorite Joni song for years - since it was first released. But in the past few years the song For The Roses has moved into first place. The album is definitely my most favorite. We've long had the Hejira vs. For The Roses "is the best" camps here ;-) I didn't take to Hejira when it came out but it has grown on me over the years and I can't deny Joni's genius in that work. It took my breath away reading Mark's recent post reciting Song for Sharon from memory. The lyrics from that song and album are probably at the top of the list. He's not a Joni fan and doesn't know the song so I was stunned when he picked up on this: He said that it's a rebirth of the broken tree and elephant. They've risen up after being cut down and are now expressing themselves in a new life. ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2012 #1170 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
