"don't have kids when you get grown." \ this has always had a very high resonance with me. Today I am reading a june 27th USA Today article on "Natural Gas Gold Rush, IS your state next? and I think "don't have kids. . ." there are 13,000 NEW high volume hydrofracking wells per year. . . in the US year, that is 35 new wells per day. . each time they frack they put a whole HOUSE FULL of chemicals into the earth to create mini earth quakes to release the natural gas. plus about 1,000 truckolads of fresh water, which they take from the nearest body of water, this water can not be reclaimed back into the hydrologic cycle as the mix is now highly toxic. WE ARE WILLINGLY PUTTING CARCINOGENIC CHEMICALS INTO THE EARth. . endocrine disruptors. . . /birth defects. . . oil and gas companies are exempt from the clean air act, the clean water act and all of the other protections from the 1970's (called the haliburton loophole, aka dick cheney's) study war no more law down your arms she plants her garden in the spring. . . we are willingly putting these chemicals into the earth study war no more you can frack a well several times, 5 - 15 . . something like that I can hardly handle the news. . . and then bob writes this: ". . . and the truth is that even in tough times, the joy of parenting child is an antidote to a lack of hope. There's always a sense of "I want my kids to have a better life than I had, etc" (Not that we're doing a great job of that, mind you.) But like you say, we continue to hope and strive for that. From my own perspective, raising my son has been the greatest joy I've ever known. " the dichotomy of life the joy the devastation do your best speak\learn love your kids teach LO VE Marianne ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2012 #1074 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
