I've done it, and I've gotten an external hard drive (you can get them for cheap with mega-storage). That way it's portable; you can move it from computer to computer. It certainly makes searching through your music much easier than rifling through stacks of records and cd's. If so, what is required. I have an empty, unused laptop; is that enough or do I need a new computer? What are the advantages and drawbacks? The prices are crazy low. I found Peter Gabriel's greatest hits (Shaking The Tree) for $1.99! I couldn't buy 2 of the MP3s for that! The greatest two things since sliced bread are Google Play and iTunes Match iCloud. Google Play is free to upload 20,000 songs into the cloud (then accessible from any computer), and iCloud is only $24.99 a year to upload unlimited songs. I uploaded ALL my music to both. With iCloud, you can still listen to all your music on iTunes as before. I deleted all my music from my hard drive, freeing up over 100 gigs! ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2012 #1001 ****************************** ------- To post messages to the list, sendtojoni@smoe.org.
