Subject: Hooked on Jazz with Joni to blame

All those post-Blue Joni albums introduced me to vocal jazz (Twisted, Centerpiece). I sang alto in some upstairs choirs. I also worked really hard at the piano in high school before realizing I would never be Lyle Mays.

It is because of Joni that I discovered Herbie, Wayne, Jaco, Mingus, etc. I didn't really listen to much Billie Holiday until I found out about her special admirer. And these musicians' collaborators were brought to my attention. So part of my Joni progression is listening to her colleagues/influences' music, not just her own.

I do believe that it is included as part of the Mingus album PACKAGE-ing.
