Seems our Michael Paz is having a blast in the Big Apple and I'm sure their PHJB 50th Anniversary Concert will be awesome at Carnegie Hall this Sat. I got to see and thoroughly enjoyed Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue's concert Tuesday night for the Sugar Bowl Fan Fest in New Orleans and am envious of the PHJB line up they have put together for their 50th Anniversary concert Sat. in NY. Here's a link for the sold out concert and line up. http://jazztimes.com/articles/29089-preservation-hall-jazz-band-announces-50th-anniversary-concert PS. If you've never seen Trombone Shorty (Troy Andrews), here's a brief PBS clip that gives you a glimpse of what a treat you're in for. http://video.pbs.org/video/2174348366 Good luck Michael and let us know how the show turns out. And Happy New Year to everyone. A nice mellow way to ease into my day with lots of my favorite classic jazz vocalists. I'll check out the others as the week progresses. Not much for house but I'll give anything a fair shot. Thanks for the plug Jim but we are SOLD OUT. We could have sold this show out for a week. It's a blast . In the meantime we have been doing this play here called Sleep No More. Check it out online. Its pretty crazy. I am doing the whole thing tomorrow night and my associate will be covering me so I can enjoy the whole experience. Had a lovely lunch today with the lovely and talented David Lahm. And Monday I had lunch with the equally lovely and talented Patrick Leader who also gave me a nice walking tour of the Highliner.
