I just wanted to share some music you guys might like. I really dig this English acoustic duo called The Douglas Firs, and as I mentioned before, of all the groups people compare them to, the general consensus is Joni Mitchell. I suppose it's a bit like Tom Waits, in that even if somebody kinda reminds you of him, nobody really sounds quite like him, but still....give it a listen and see what you think. It's just nice music, and you never can have too much of that, can you? http://www.thedouglasfirs.com (you can stream their whole CD right off the Music page, no sample snippets to deal with) Their singer, Suzy, has a very melodious voice. It's just her and Jimmy, the guitarist, so they have a very minimalist acoustic sound on the majority of their songs. If you only have time for one song, my personal favorite is probably "Regrets and Cigarettes", though everyone else seems to prefer "I Don't Want to Go to Bed". Anyway, hope it's ok that I posted this. I just like them a lot and wanted to share with other folks who appreciate the same kind of music. Thanks!
