It really exposes and makes the most of the rhythm and blues in the song, and also adds Duke Ellington influence that Joni often describes having found later in her work (especially in the backing vocals). I bet that she would dig this version big time! If there is a Broadway show developed around Joni's music (ala "Movin' Out -- or something with a more compelling book), I can imagine this arrangement being used almost intact -- and with breathless choreography and a youthful chorus could be a show stopper as it's one of the (few) completely joyful pieces in the canon. On a personal note, please excuse my recent absence from the list following this past summer's blow out in LA. Several personal and professional challenges have conspired to keep me away from the community. I should have more time in the future. Hope all are well.
