(With yahoo groups, you do have the option of either going into the group when you choose, or else having it email you the posts as they appear - at least, that's how it worked when I was on a yahoo group a few years ago.) I once tried digest, but found it difficult to sort through what I wanted to read and what I wasn't interested in, and find that individual posts are actually much easier to deal with, even if it may seem daunting at first. I also get the njc stuff and I happen to like it, but realize that tastes differ. As long as people remember (at least most of the time) to put njc in the subject line for those that have no Joni-content, that should make things easier. If smoe isn't being maintained by anyone, the whole thing could end up breaking down in time, (I'm impressed that it keeps on going without anyone maintaining it) but I'm kind of of the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" mind-set (recognizing that, for those on digest, it's already broke.) Yahoo groups is OK, but not really my personal cuppa tea (recognizing once again that others may have a different opinion and not wanting to foist mine on anyone.) I think the problem with smoe at present is only happening to those on digest, whether it's jc or njc (and am not sure if now even the njc folks are receiving the njc stuff against their wills.) I think the obnoxious Bs that show up have to do with people using rich text to respond, which is then converted to plain text, or something like that. >________________________________ >From: Dan Olson >To: joni@smoe.org >Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2011 9:13:41 PM >Subject: Re: SMOE > >I'm not really sure what the issue is, not being a digest receiver; But I >would like to state that, having once been a digest receiver, but then >having switched over to the "every email as it's sent" approach, I would >highly recommend the latter.
