I think there are some good "bones" there, however, that can be brought to to full realization in a better presentation. As for Chalkmark, what I did like about it was the happy hint that Joni might be "getting back to being Joni" musically. Night Right Home then confirmed it ;-) Kakki ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Oct 2011 19:56:57 -0700 From: "kbhla" Subject: Joni's Smile That's some very, very pretty music, Christopher. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing with us! I am still a novice to these email interchanges. I do not tweet, text, have a website, Facebook account etc. So, I ask here for your patience. I hope I am responding here in the appropriate manner. Thank you for your kind words about Joni's Smile. The nature of creating something new is so curious. Like painting, one needs to step away and see it from different angles. As with that mix I posted. I hope to improve upon the hues and shapes when this layer "dries". Other's eyes provide more accurate / less emotional perspectives.. In answer to the question, I make music / Chrystolines for myself at this time. In the process of trying to make myself happy, if someone else is as well, I receive that as a blessing and I am grateful. I had projected that some in this group might appreciate the sentiment and am glad that is the case. I am not trying to sell anything. I am simply sharing. Yes, those "hi beams" Joni had on and were captured in the Billboard cover were inspirational. Mojo personified. Thank you for sharing it! I am very curious about your Chrystoline instrument. It sounds like you used it for this song? Do have photos online anywhere? Do you sell them? I can't help singing in my head those prescient Joni lyrics from HOSL : He opens up his suitcase In the continental suite And people twenty stories down Colored currents in the street A helicopter lands on the Pan Am roof Like a dragonfly on a tomb And business men in button downs Press into conference rooms Has anyone else been struck by this ?
