Hi Walt! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guerneville,_California http://www.guerneville-online.com/ http://www.guerneville-online.com/gaytravel.htm Fun and sociable in the summer, tends toward sleepy in the winter. Fog and rain a lot of the time. Probably affordable, depending on your needs. I had forgotten quite what a range Sandy's voice had. > A great treat Glad you enjoyed it Jacky. As I said, I personally found Clinton Heylin's biography pretty depressing, particularly his portrayal of her husband, Trevor Lucas, as basically a bit of a bastard. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear Martin Carthy say that, "that biography did Trevor a criminal disservice - that man did everything he could to back her up - supported her whenever, wherever - he was a stalwart." I was also surprised by Dave Swarbrick's revelation that Sandy didn't actually drink a lot - she had a medical condition which meant that she could get "absolutely pissed on half a glass of wine" I recently read a letter from Mat Snow (past editor of Q Magazine) in The Guardian >> In his warm tribute to the English singer-songwriter Sandy Denny ("No fear of time", 8 January), Rob Young cites as the cause of her death in 1978 "a brain injury resulting from a fall". Reviewing the known facts about her death in an unpublished section of a feature for Q magazine which he wrote with my assistance in 2009, Professor Hugh Montgomery, director of the University College London Institute for Human Health and Performance, arrived at a different conclusion. To summarise his findings, the delay of several weeks between Denny's fall and her collapse into coma and death from what was found to be a mid-brain trauma makes it extremely unlikely that the first caused the second. Far more likely is that the fall was a warning sign of what was to kill her weeks later. Friends say that for months she'd suffered unsteadiness, headaches, dizziness, blurred - perhaps double - vision and slurred speech, and that one pupil had become larger than the other. Wernicke's Encephalopathy would account for all these symptoms. A disease caused by vitamin (thiamine) deficiency, and easily treated by supplements, it is common in alcoholics and can also cause mid-brain bleeds.>> Best to all PaulC PS that 'Sendoid service I mentioned has worked for some but not others so I've been looking for other large file sharing services and have found a new one that seems to be brilliant - - see http://fyels.com - if anyone else would like the video download link, just let me know. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 01 Jun 2011 20:50:42 -0400 From: "Jim L'Hommedieu" Subject: Eddie Vedder quotes Springsteen, njc I suppose In Tuesday's newspaper, there's a short interview from the Chicago Tribune with Eddie Vedder. Q: You've reissued the first three Pearl Jam albums. Can you still relate to the guy who wrote those songs? In some ways, it sounds like you've left part of him behind. A: I had a long talk with Bruce Springsteen on a rooftop during the Vote For Change tour (in 2004). And it boiled down to this: That guy you used to be, he's still in the car. He'll always be in the car. Just don't let him drive. One comment said that they wondered if Neil Young and Joni Mitchell had a baby... So you're not alone in feeling this as a Joni Mitchell song. ;-) I am sure that the musicians in the crowd will express the similarities better than I can. thanks for the nod for Ray, lots of his fans are here too.
