Bone Burnett's involvement. I have a good friend in Atlanta (in addition to Victor, of course!) and am just thinking that spring next year may be a very good time to go and pay him another visit... And thats a good thing because his name is almost a guarantee that the quality will be high. Bob NP: Joni, "Man To Man" (had nearly forgotten how much I LOVE this WTRF track, especially made all the more tasteful (and meaningful) with JT singing and playing on it. Any other Man to Man fans out there? When he's not going over the top with the supernatural stuff, Stephen King's novels are excellent, but I've read all the crappy ones too and they're still a good read, even if I'm often saying, "C'mooooon, Steve, this could've been a great short story instead of an 800-page novel!" I've always read "The Shining" as having two possibilities, sort of like Henry James's "The Turn of the Screw": 1.) the hotel is haunted and grabs hold of the man's brain/soul particularly because he is already weak - he's an alcoholic trying to stay sober and having a very hard time with it 2.) the man himself is already on the brink of going crazy and the hotel isn't really haunted but he has heard that it is and, because of that, believes it and behaves accordingly I probably need to read it again to see if I still feel that way. I hated the film and would love to see it done again in such a way that you're never really sure if it's the hotel that's haunted, or the man's increasing madness that makes him behave as he does. - ----- Original Message ---- > From: "hell@farmside.co.nz" > To: Bob Muller ; Gerald Notaro ; Joni >List > Sent: Thu, March 31, 2011 10:39:43 PM > Subject: RE: Hey Victor, maybe a new vehicle for you! - njc > > Bob wrote: > > > Unfortunately, very few King novels have transformed to good > > films. My goodness, I am not sure it was worth it, but it was certainly a great relief! (If anyone else wants to try it: it is actually the very last thing before the track loops back to the very first song about "extraordinary people".) Marianne, how on earth did you ever find this? I agree with Laura, it would have made for a perfect April Fools joke, I am surprised I wasn't even thinking of that when I sat there patiently listening to all this repetitive stuff...
