Those lines now work much better now that you've pointed that out. Was it Charlie Gabriel on the sax last night? He was awesome at PazFest and did one of my favorite sets. Glad you got to go and sounds like a great time. We are all about Joni, right? Last night I saw Paz at the Preservation Hall Jazz Band concert!! It was so good to see him!!!! It brought me right back to the Pazfest, and I started missing everybody. So what's the scoop on LA? It was a spectacular show!!! The members of the PHJB are like one instrument when they play because they communicate sound so perfectly together. The concert went by in a flash though it lasted about 2 hours. Never a dull moment, just total intrigue and amazement. The bell on the saxophone player's horn looked like 24K gold... and he plays like that! He did a circular breathing technique for what seemed like a constant breath for about 5 minutes. Even the tuba player did a solo! The singing was fantastic in addition to the music. As I sat there enjoying the concert, I thought about Joni and how she loves jazz. I hope she's seen the PHJB. If she hasn't, I hope she will get to sometime, and you too! I always "heard" them as verbs but I can see the possibility. Sort of like "trials and tribulations, and then you die" I think the phrase " the gas leaks" on a stand alone basis appears in writing and conversation as a noun form much more frequently than in sentence/ verb form. Perhaps that explains my initial hearing Sent from my iPhone On Mar 27, 2011, at 12:34 PM, Jim wrote: > Joni said, > >>and the gas leaks > >>And the oils spills > >>And sex sells everything > >>And sex kills > > Bob S said in part, >> For years I only heard the first two lines as visual images - pairings of > adjectives and nouns.
