I've always regretted not being able to see his Joni shows, and would go and see any of his other shows on the strength of what I have read and heard about him, if I ever were anywhere near at the right time... Thanks, Jerry, for keeping us updated. However, I later realized that to be grammatically aligned with the latter two lines, they could/ should be considered as noun/ verb pairings. Sort of a double entendre. I love it. Reminds me of the classic visual oddity of seeing two different images when one draws a 3-d box using 12 line segments without erasing any of the segments Bobsart > 9 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 Mar 2011 10:22:59 -0700 (PDT) From: Lc Stanley Subject: last night, njc How can something be njc when we see each other?! We are all about Joni, right? Last night I saw Paz at the Preservation Hall Jazz Band concert!! It was so good to see him!!!! It brought me right back to the Pazfest, and I started missing everybody. So what's the scoop on LA? It was a spectacular show!!! The members of the PHJB are like one instrument when they play because they communicate sound so perfectly together. The concert went by in a flash though it lasted about 2 hours. Never a dull moment, just total intrigue and amazement. The bell on the saxophone player's horn looked like 24K gold... and he plays like that! He did a circular breathing technique for what seemed like a constant breath for about 5 minutes. Even the tuba player did a solo! The singing was fantastic in addition to the music. As I sat there enjoying the concert, I thought about Joni and how she loves jazz. I hope she's seen the PHJB. If she hasn't, I hope she will get to sometime, and you too!
