Jainchill is serving as Guest Editor of The Cruise Log while USA TODAY Cruise Editor Gene Sloan is away. A passenger on the 5,400-passenger Allure of the Seas was arrested in St. Thomas this weekend for allegedly selling drugs to fellow passengers on a the largest ever gay cruise, a full charter of the world's biggest cruise vessel. According to an Associated Press report, Steven Krumholz, 51, of West Hollywood, Calif., was arrested for selling drugs during a full ship, seven-day charter of the Allure by Atlantis Events, a company that specializes in all-gay and lesbian cruises and resort vacations. The AP reported that Customs and Border Protection agents allegedly found more than 142 ecstasy pills, methamphetamine, a small amount of ketamine, and about $51,000 in cash in Krumholz's cabin. The suspect was caught after agents boarded the ship last week and found drugs on a different passenger who said he had ordered them from Krumholz before the trip and picked them up while onboard, the report said. Krumholz was detained on charges of possession with intent to sell. Royal Caribbean said that it maintains a strict "zero tolerance" policy regarding illegal drugs on its ships and that it is fully cooperating with authorities during this investigation. Atlantis Events had not yet returned a request for comment.
