I didn't see the lunar eclipse - too late, or too early and, in fact, don't know if it was cloudy or not at the time. Today, though, the sun is shining, for the first time in a number of days. Here comes the sun and I say... it's all right! - ----- Original Message ---- > From: Mark > To: joni > Sent: Tue, December 21, 2010 8:45:46 AM > Subject: Happy Solstice! njc > > We kissed the angels and the moon eclipsed..... > > Let's hope the full moon and the eclipse make for an auspicious new solar >year. Mark in Seattle ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Dec 2010 13:29:39 -0800 From: Russell Bowden Subject: Random Joni moments Gang, Had a very nice deep listen to DJRD yesterday...It never ceases to grab me by throat and rattle my cage...all in a good way. I love EVERY MINUTE of it. I guess I'd say it's her most perfect and listenable work. On to Chalk Mark...you know what I really love about 'My Secret Place'? It's just a split second thing when she sings 'girl meets desperado' and you hear her back-up voice sing 'Uh-oh' (like...Here comes trouble!) on the last 2 sylables: rah-doe. Magical, simply Magical! OK...That's it. Happy Holidays...whichever ones you're celebrating. Love, Russ in Alameda, CA Sotto voce ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 21 Dec 2010 16:52:14 -0500 From: Bob.Muller@Fluor.com Subject: Re: Random Joni moments I know you have that thing for DJRD, but isn't it a stretch to call it her most "listenable" work? I mean, it requires quite a bit of effort to soak in the ENTIRE Paprika Plains, not to mention "Tenth World" which is pretty much just pure rhythm for almost 7 minutes. It's brilliant to be sure, but in terms of listenability it's hard not to vote against C&S for pure ear candy that just effortlessly shifts from one accessible track to the next. Just my thoughts on the matter... I read on an old website that there used to be a JMDL DC++ Hub. Is it still functional? What used to be on it? And, most importantly, where do I sign up for it? Thanks!
