NJC [Em Subject: Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's like a miracle!!!!!!!! NJC Hooked up the BBE Sonic Maximizer, which you'd suggested as a possible way to clear up the mud I've experienced from some recent CD's. It absolutely allows Plant's "Band of Joy" to breathe!!!! Gives it "air" where it was choked off sounding before. Just a STELLAR result!!!!! yay!!!!! I couldn't be more pleased, as it has now rendered this CD quite delicious. Am mostly using the "process" knob - the "LO contour" knob doesn't seem to be as necessary. Next I will try it with Richard Thompson's "Dream Attic" and Elton John and Leon Russell's CD together (I forget the title). I like how the SM has that little bypass button that you can so easily bypass to compare what it would sound like without the effect. Anyway, thanks very much for recommending this. I am a happy camper!"Band of Joy" takes flight! :DEm ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 18 Dec 2010 10:18:20 -0800 From: Dave Blackburn Subject: Re: Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's like a miracle!!!!!!!! NJC Right on Em. Better living through gizmos! The LO contour boosts bottom but is usually not what you want. If you want sparkle and "forward" presence just use the Process knob to taste; much better than treble EQ. Happy holidays JMDL brethren....
