Jim quoted it from the new JMDL archives site, just as an example (I suppose) of how much water had run under the bridge since then. At the time when the post was written, this aspect of Joni's past was still not publicly known. But of course, a few years later, Joni was reunited with her daughter. The JMDL actually played quite an important role in this reunion. Jim, I was struck by the same post when I had a quick look at the archive. I look forward to catching up with a lot more, as soon as I have a bit more time. It really is exciting to see how the list has developed. Now the next thing to complete it, would be for someone who was "there" when it was all set up, to write a first person account of it! My heart goes out to you in all directions. I did have the good fortune to spend a little time with David, once at Full Moon, and the other at the Joni tribute in NYC. In fact, Scott and I sat with him and David Rolls for dinner. His gift for storytelling was staggering. He joyfully enlightened us throughout dinner and up to dessert. At that point, he and I drifted off into endless Joni conversation. Wishing him, David and you strength and the ability to keep smiling. Love and Peace, Jody **** I mirror you back, Jody/Beej. Thank you, Jimmy, for being there and for sharing with us. This is a rough to travel and it's all too deja-vu "we have all been here before" during Smurf's vigil. I remember the beautiful "The Vigil (the Sea)" Jane Siberry lyrics that Patrick posted and I well up with affection, thinking back on the roads to then. I'm holding back from crying, like all of you. Jody, you sat with them at Seppi's that night in NYC? I didn't know they were there! Merde alors! I remember seeing you in that booth ("the first time ever I saw your face") and we pointed at each other, filling the journey of a moment with sixty seconds of wonder and delight, asking: "Are you Jody, Smurf's friend?" "Are you Patti?" Love those moments when there's so much laughter, when there's so much SPARK! Mingus was rather quiet on the list, I think, at least since I joined in February 2004. One day I received a beautiful private message from him that was "love is touching souls," out of the blue, struck by lightning from above, solid love. I can't remember exactly what he said, but I remember how it made me feel. "Didn't it feel good? Didn't it feel good?" Yes, it did. He was so sweet and so kind and he made me feel like a moooOOOOoooovie queen that day. Sending much love light and peaceful thoughts and prayers to his room tonight as he is surrounded by Joni and tender, loving care. Comfort and consolation. (Poetic license to change Joni's words, sometimes.) May he feel the LOVE. Love & Peace to all, Patti P. NPOMTV: Quelle coincidence, UConn women vs. USF women. Maybe near Mingus...
