I have no idea where the past 2 days went let alone the last 30 or 40 years! lol! There's one more thing that Grace said in that interview that might be of interest: Q: What do you find in art that you never found in music? A: Well, art is solitary. You don't have to give in to anybody else. In other words, during the '80s I had to give in to everybody. I had to say OK. I was trying to be a good girl. "OK, I'm not drinking. OK, you wanna do that song? OK." With art, you don't have to give in to anybody. You do what you want to do. Well, partially what sells. My agent said, why don't you do a cartoon series on the lyrics of "White Rabbit" and I thought, "Oh Christ." But he's right. The stuff does sell. You want to pay your bills, you don't draw goofy stuff all the time. Sounds familiar but it also sounds like Grace is willing to 'Paint a White Rabbit again, man!' Oh well. At least she's honest about it. I wonder how much money she came out of the 'cesspool' with? If they are on the floor now, the bass will tighten up and the midrange will clear up when you put them on stands. But the overarching thing I'm thinking is this: the room is tiny and it's holding you back. Every time I move to a different apartment, the sound changes. Some rooms sound terrible, especially if room measures 8'x8' and the ceiling is also 8'. You'll get the muffled midrange and thumpy, totally messed up bass that you are describing." Hi Jim, These paragraphs float images in my mind about when I was still using and lived in an apartment. The people below us were making me listen to their music, which wasn't Joni or it would have been okay. I got out my electric guitar and amp, turned the amp up close to all the way, turned the whole amp face down on the floor and rock 'n rolled. THEY called the police on me. Didn't have another problem with them making me listen to their music after that.
