NJC If this message comes through without short lines and Bs, then that will be, first of all, thanks to Moni Kellermann who gave me a lot of good advice and especially told me to try and produce my yahoo messages in plain text. Secondly, if it works well, I want to thank the perpetual "gentaman" Jim for guiding me through some of the steps to get there. If it does not work, then of course it's all my own fault... And if it works, then Catherine and the same gentaman Jim should take note, because I saw their last messages, and they seemed to suffer from the same format sickness... So just click the "plain text" option at the end of the subject line, and that should do the trick. To do this test properly, I want to make my post a bit longer. What better way than to tell Catherine and Jim (this time the other Jim, Lamadoo) that I am grateful to them for making me laugh out loud. Catherine with her herds of wild roaming abandoned cows, and Jim with the transcript of Linda Ronstadt's deep thinking. Thank you! And oh yes.. maybe I can mention that Robin and Dave are at this moment sitting at my dining table, rehearsing a perfect version of Blue. Life can be good! We look forward to a great gig in Greenwich tonight. But anything more about that will be sent in my next message. That's when I can drop the NJC tag! Ha ha, Muller, you nut! I love the video. And I'm one of those ingrates that downloads your covers but usually doesn't comment. My crappy excuse is that I often download them right away but it may take weeks before I listen to them. I'm looking forward to this one though because I understand the Charlie Dee stuff is great, and there are TWO versions of Dry Cleaner on it. How often does that happen? ________________________________ From: Bob Muller To: JMDL Sent: Sat, October 2, 2010 11:29:49 AM Subject: Joni Covers, Volume 129 - FALLing into Joni Covers! NJC Well, whaddya know? I never noticed a plain text thing at the end of the subject line and was about to say, "Lieve, you're crazy, there isn't one," but voila, there it is. I noticed the Bs in my last one. That doesn't usually happen, but often the line breaks come in strange places, making it look like I was attempting to write poetry. Bad poetry. Moni knows everything there is to know about computers and a lot of other stuff. When Moni speaks, I listen. ________________________________ From: Lieve Reckers To: jonilist JMDL Cc: Moni Kellermann ; Catherine ; Jim ; jim Sent: Sat, October 2, 2010 11:33:02 AM Subject: testing my new format - Catherine and Jim watch out! I'm happy to be a pianny player, so I don't know from the guitar transcriptions. But *For the Roses* is, for me, the ultimate Joni songbook--I love most of the arrangements, and the photos by Norman Seeff and Joel Bernstein are beautiful. But the real prize is all the artwork by Joni that accompanies most of the tunes, some of it very enlightening. My copy is completely unbound, but otherwise in decent shape--but I'd love to have one in new or near-new condition. My *Court & Spark* is in slightly better condition. I'm trying to remember (since I don't have my albums here so I could check)--didn't the songbook come with a big detachable poster, or was that the album? I can't even recall whether it was a photo of Joni or perhaps a reproduction of her watercolor for the album cover?? I know I had it up on various walls for a while, and I hope I still have it somewhere. Anyone?
