It would be very nice to meet up when we are there, I'll get in touch. I don't really know much at our whereabouts, except that we are in SA 3-19 September. See you soon (wow)! "Joni Mitchell" the vampire? Hello there, someone brought home a magazine about vampires today - with special gifts in it, amont others these little quiz-coasters with images of the protagonists of a BBC series called "Being Human" I flip one, and see that the vampire in question is called... Joni Mitchell. What?? First off, I just want to say, Yaaaaaay, I'm so thrilled Sherelle is coming! We can't wait to hook up with old friends and meet some new ones. Here is the proposed menu for Paz's Party that will begin around 2-3 pm until very late: Appetizers: Jim's Spicy Meat Mini Muffins Grilled Shrimpies ala Paz Mini Muffuletta Sandwiches w/ Poblano Potato Salad Dinner: Freda and Paz's GUMBO Mixed Greens Garden Salad New Orleans French Bread Dessert: Do we really need dessert if we have beer ;-) Perhaps some Cafe au Lait. The cost per person will be based on the total food cost divided by the # of folks eating. Michael has suggested we pick up beverages at the local Winn Dixie, that way we can kind of calculate what we'll want to be drinking. This is only a proposed menu, so please feel free to comment. The only item we can't discard or change is the GUMBO!!! Note to Maggie - Thank you for your support :-) We won't let you down, CQ. So far we have a kick-ass crew that has volunteered. I can't wait to learn how to make authentic gumbo from the masters, Freda and Paz! As Jerry has mentioned, time is running short, so we will have to finalize the menu by this Friday, 8-27. Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions, Jody xoox __,_._,___ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 23 Aug 2010 22:30:22 -0500 From: Michael Paz Subject: Holy Shit Batman!!!!! Out of all the people that are signed up for this thing that is growing all of a sudden with a member for the current Saturday Night Live Band signing up and Sherelle Smith and a COOL wind from the north who is threatening to come. There are 12 songs that were performed at the first Pazfest which was only one day. This is a two day fest NOT including the JMDL PRIVATE PARTY at my house and I have to say. This is the most diverse group of people with the most diverse group of songs and I am OFFICIALLY so excited to tell you that if you your ass fat or thin is on the fence..... Fall off this way. We are going to have a blast and wish you were here. Here are some thoughts to take with you We will sleep when were dead (for all those that have been there before DONNA BINKLEY WHERE ARE YOU?????) Will I fit in?? (ask Gentamen Jim this question. He has taken over the entire fest and only I have met him ONCE) Can I afford it? (This ?? Is for the Dulson's) Baybee you not taken it with you when you go so may as well spend it now. Will it be safe in New Orleans during Southern Decadence weekend with Jimmy and Cuban loose in the quarter? (WHAT? Reallv? Please these men are so old that even my turtle could out run them) I don't know what to play!!! (well gee so far there are so many songs that have never been played at a fest EVEN ones that JOAN ever played on record or known recordings. Will Bob Muller dance with me??? (PULES. Even his son will dance with you and HE is much cuter! Besides Bob is a DANCING CLOWN and still hasn't signed up to do any songs at the Howlin' Wolf OR the Ogden Museum. Ok thats enough you get the idea. It's ok to want to come and leave your work, family, responsibilities, dog, cat, turtle, behind. And besides YOU deserve it. Come on down we need the tourism cause people think we are heathens drenched in oil (earl as we pronounce it in the city).
