Time is running short, and Michael is traveling with the band that pays his bills so now it is our turn to step up. First, Rio Mar was the winner of the Thursday night dinner. It is a fabulous restaurant and logistically probably the best choice because of the proximity to the Ogden Museum and Crown Plaza Hotel. Can you please let me know that you are coming so Michael can confirm the reservation with Chef Adolfo this week? If you have already let me, Michael, or the Pazfest group know, thanks and there is no need to again. Also he needs someone to start organizing the party at my house as far as planning for food and drink. Need to know if anyone has an allergies etc. Jody has volunteered to coordinate food. I will help as well as my friend Frank from Tampa who is also going. Please email Jody johnsonjs100@comcast.net. Now back to our regularly scheduled program. One of them is a broadcast of OGWT, which has a time stamp bottom center of the screen throughout. There is a countdown clock at the beginning that says "Television International" right before the video starts. While this is from the same concert featured on the Old Grey Whistle Test video above, it contains 10 songs not contained on that video. The video and sound are somewhat inferior to the OGWT video with the timecode. I still love them both. As for 'Shine', the very first song is essentially so beautiful and gentle...it moves me to declare this album the best so far, 'cos that gentle quality extends through the entire album. Song to a Seagull is officially, for all eternity, my best song ever (by a musician other than myself, or possibly, and thus far, the best of all songs). when i am at the beach specifically sunrise beach, it puts me right into my timeless inner-realm, and joni's words about 'no voices can blame you for sun on your wings' and 'no dreams can posess you' and just everything about the yearning for an individual world, intersecting perhaps with other's individual worlds, and the 'dreams that sank like a stone' ending with a persistence that 'my dreams with the seagulls fly, out of reach, out of cry'....well that all evokes a world that the individual who is joni yearns for, and so do i... benedicte, has something occurred in your life that has stirred the moorings of depression and lifted it somewhat? I hope so, and if it hasn't, the world is full of surprises, and surprises are not always bad....once in a while they're full of wonder, and you never know if such a surpris is lurking around the corner. nuriel, i am sorry that i was crazy when i last wrote to you. joni, you make me cross with your sentiments about angry woman..i think anger is vital, to have recourse to, when one is physically at a disadvantage. joni you really need to think again, i think. oneday i'd like to see your paintings for real, in front of my very eyes. i wished i was your lost daughter, but that's over now. i hope that you are well, and thriving too. gee, and the fifth song is so exquisite, namely "bad dreams"...it's playing here now. i don't think the world has just gone into demise.....everyone has scars, the earth is no exception, and some changes might yet work out for the good. the natural world includes the human mind, and i believe that hope and progress has always resided in science, as opposed to religion. i have an appreciation for the aesthetics of thought in maths, and so i cannot share a disillusion with the human-made world...maybe with intent, it has made many of the old hindhu dreams of over-distance communication and long-distance travel actual, and maybe with better intent, science will redeem us.... music is the almost most powerful, it inevitably will always be, but the application of the mind has other avenues too. love from ingrid ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Aug 2010 20:39:36 -0600 (MDT) From: TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Subject: Video addition in the Library: Interview by Pat Benatar Another video has been added to the Library at JoniMitchell.com: Interview by Pat Benatar - Amnesty International - New Jersey 1986 View it here: http://jonimitchell.com/library/video.cfm?id=214 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Aug 2010 21:41:20 -0600 (MDT) From: TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Subject: Video addition in the Library: Interview With Denise Donlon Another video has been added to the Library at JoniMitchell.com: Interview With Denise Donlon - Intimate and Interactive - Toronto, Canada 1994 View it here: http://jonimitchell.com/library/video.cfm?id=215 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Aug 2010 21:58:50 -0600 (MDT) From: TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Subject: Video addition in the Library: Interview Another video has been added to the Library at JoniMitchell.com: Interview - Intimate and Interactive - Toronto, Canada 1994 View it here: http://jonimitchell.com/library/video.cfm?id=216 ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Aug 2010 22:19:20 -0600 (MDT) From: TheStaff@JoniMitchell.com Subject: Video addition in the Library: Interview Part 3 Magdelene Laundries Another video has been added to the Library at JoniMitchell.com: Interview Part 3 Magdelene Laundries - Intimate and Interactive - Toronto, Canada 1994 View it here: http://jonimitchell.com/library/video.cfm?id=217 ------------------------------ End of JMDL Digest V2010 #248 ***************************** ------- Post messages to the list by clicking here: mailto:joni@smoe.org Unsubscribe by clicking here: mailto:joni-digest-request@smoe.org?body=unsubscribe -------
