I heard this on cassette many years ago and was just awestruck at the performance-stripped down, an extremely attentive audience, and Joni performing some stuff from Hejira that was just a few days away from its release. Jaco's bass solo (if I remember correctly was "Portrait of Tracy") is stunning as well. And how could I not mention Joni's encore of "Song For Sharon?" Pure gold! Even though it seems like she takes a half hour to tune. (Been there a bunch of times) And Mark is very correct-the guitar version of "S&L" is very similar to "Coyote"-same guitar tuning, same first three chord shapes just played slower and looser. So yes, if you haven't heard this one, do yourself a favor and get it. I love Joni's music, and "ACOY" is among my top 5 favorite songs of hers, but "Moondance" is the closest thing I've ever heard to the perfect song. You will have so much joy added. They are so sweet. I've enjoyed my little Lilly who's 3 and her new sister Sophie, now 5 weeks, so much. Find a special song that you can sing to her that's just for the two of you and dance around with her. I sang Hi Lilly Hi Lo to my Lilly and we still share that at bedtime when I baby sit. It makes me so happy when she says..again! (That was before Sophie was born... don't know about babysitting for 2 yet...) I would love to hear more details such as the baby's name, weight and is this your son or daughter's baby. Congratulations again. Nana Pearl (In Lewisburg, WV right now missing my girls and not in Hollywood, FL) Hi jonipeople, I have to tell the world: yesterday afternoon (European time) a baby girl was born and I became a grandmother! Amelia...I love singing that song because it's always an experience and so much more than just singing a bunch of notes, I mean, it's impossible to sing without really feeling the layers of emotion and the whole intangible, magical quality that this song possesses. What, in your experience, is the easiest Joni song to play? At this point, I think it would have to be Two Grey Rooms because I've been playing it every week at the Atlanta airport for almost two years now. I tried My Old Man today, just by ear and I think it actually sounded pretty good and right on. Hopefully there were some Joni Mitchell fans out there. Which song, while playing it, is most likely to make you cry? Joni songs don't make me cry but Amelia can send chills through me. Oh, and did I mention how important this list is to me?
