I've been detecting a lot of quite obscure Joni mentions in TV shows lately but this may well be the most obscure of them all. I'm not even sure that it is a Joni mention. I was watching the DVDs of The Nanny and, in the episode titled, The Cradle Robbers, Nanny Fine (Fran Drescher) says to Maxwell Sheffield, "Typical male, doesn't know what he's got 'till it's gone". In any other context, I would chalk it up to a common expression but for the laugh the line gets. If not for being a reference to Big Yellow Taxi, it wouldn't otherwise be funny.
