"This is a really wonderful album; Joni just laid it all out there for the world to hear. Brave, especially back in the dayI feel that this new version is the true giant killer. Unlike the original 1970's pressings, this new version was mastered without ANY added compression whatsoever, making it a true problem child in cutting (of our own making) but I wouldn't have it any other way. After many spoiled lacquer masters and one too many Altoids, it was finished to everybody's satisfaction. The effort was worth it. The ebb and flow of the music is totally intact. Parts were cut, plated and pressed at Record Tech (RTI) and the actual 1971 Reprise master tape (as recorded and mixed at A&M Recording Studios) was used in disk cutting, bypassing the usual/"EQ'd and Compressed Cutting Master" completely. Unlike the DCC, most of the songs on this vinyl version were cut without ANY equalization at all so this will be the closest you will ever be able to get to the sound of the true master tape of Blue. It was exciting to work on and I'm sure it will please y'all." Steve Hoffman a beautiful listening experience and well worth the $25.......ChuckE ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2010 18:38:48 +0100 From: Garret Subject: Re: "Blue' LP remaster Well I don't understand much of what Mr Hoffman says there, but it truly is a wonderful listening experience Chuck. He is currently at the Shriner's Hospital in Cincinnati undergoing surgery and receiving medical care. From what I understand he is doing well so far. I want to help them by donating money from cd sales of "The Beauty of a Soul", which features the song, "The Most Beautiful Boy in the World." I know to any parent, their son is and will always be the most beautiful boy in the world. If you have not yet purchased my cd, I am contributing $4 from sales to a fund set up to assist his family with medical expenses. To order, send a check or m/o for $12 (+$2 s&h) to Victor Johnson, P.O. Box 43, Decatur, GA 30031, or to paypal at waytoblue@comcast.net . Thank you for your contribution and please keep Al in your thoughts and prayers. best, Victor, very busy moving, unpacking, looking for work, taking care of a little boy, etc... ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Jun 2010 17:49:30 -0500 From: Michael Paz Subject: ALL OFTHE BEATLES SONGS (and Queen, U2, The Stones, Elvis) For your interest music sluts and all. If you don't have a turntable and have lots of excess cash, Steve Hoffman's DCC Gold CD is for you. If you have a turntable, buy at least one copy of this before it goes out of print and you have to pay $200 for it on eBay.
