Thanks Bob! A well produced cover by Janet! I'm not a fan of her music, but this is very well done. Particularly like the addition of the jazzy keyboards here, and wish they were more upfront in the mix, and that the synthesizer blasts were downplayed. Thanks again-what a fun start to the day! Esp. the ones who have met the band and seen us live. This is us on the final song of the encore doing a Curtis Mayfield tune called Move ON Up. Our piano player Rickie Monie makes his debut as a rock guitarist. You can make out the guys in the upstage far corner playing in the Horn Section. Lil' Joe is towards downstage center playing the bass drum and Rickie is with Bo at the keyboards till he comes out with his guitar. You can just make me out at the end when they are taking their bows on the stage left side (video right) in the shadows taking pictures. Enjoy! Hey Bene Sorry I had missed this response. You can go to VG-8.com and learn more than you ever wanted to know about the device. It is a preset based unit that is entirely programmable so you can just select another preset with a foot-switch and go to the next tuning or sound. The first time Joni used it was a Jazz Festival here in New Orleans. She had the device on a bar stool and changed the patches with her hand between songs. Since then Roland came out with a VG-88 which I did not like at all. Recently they came out with the VG-99 which is much better than the VG-8 and it has a computer interface so you can do programming using the computer and also store your patches on the computer with a library program. The 99 is like 2 VG-8's in one box with alot of other extras. The 12 string patches sound really cool and I have been enjoying it very much. This is probably the most obscure Joni connection you're ever going to read about. I was checking out the digital transfer of an old gay porn movie from 1981 called, The Summer of Scott Noll (that's the honest truth) and I was listening to the background music. It was pretty non- descript '70s acoustic guitar and flute music. Then I recognised a piece. It was Love Poem by Tom Scott and The LA Express which Joni contributed vocals to. It's from the 1974 album, Tom Cat which was the same year as Court and Spark so, it has a similar sound. I only have that one track but, maybe the rest of the background music is from that album too. Anyway, Love Poem comes in at the second act. I have that track because of Joni's contribution to it but, she's pretty hard to pick out. She just does the, "la-la"s at the beginning. Still, how bizarre to hear Joni's voice in a gay porn movie. I wonder if she even knows. Is this listed in the library on jonimitchell.com? Should it be? Mark in Sydney on a crisp Autumn morning.
