Jerry Notaro has made similar remarks. Now I think it must have been quadruplets. If I had to name a favorite Joni Mitchell song, it would probably be 'Dawntreader'. Congratulations on the anniversary! And I love the words to your song. It is a wonderful feeling knowing that special someone is at Home. Oh, and the rest of your list is great. I'm loving all the lists and reading the expressions of people's feelings about the individual songs. I sing while I'm walking. I have done this for most of my life. I do it around the house all the time too. Anyway, I sing Joni's songs a lot. Probably 75% or more of the time. I will sing a lyric and it almost never fails to amaze me how perfect the words are and how uncannily they fit into the melodies. I am always discovering something new and marveling at Joni's genius. Sue, your list is beautiful! I love your descriptions and your choices. But then I thought about the chronological proximity of these 2 records and it makes perfect sense. Why put out a live album with a lot of songs from a record you just released? Especially if that studio album that preceded the live album turns out to be the biggest seller of your career? As it is, Miles of Aisles was a good motivator for me to explore the records that came before Court and Spark. Most of the people who bought Miles of Aisles probably already had Court and Spark. Anyway, I didn't explain it very well but that is what I think (as if thinking makes things so). I'm a recent Facebook convert and as a musician, a number of my musical collegues have posted clips of vintage joni masterpieces. I'm sure some of you are on FB too, and that open dialogue is really stimulating. Thanks again for keepin on keepin on..
