I realise now how much of an iconic club the Troubador is. Much like our own Basement here in Sydney. What I'm curious about is, Carole King's involvement. Maybe Corey could jump in on this one. From the BBC's doco, "Hotel California", I learned she was based in New York but, did she move out to California and become a regular at the Troubador too? Did James Taylor perform with Joni there as a duo at any time? How about Carly Simon? Maybe the subject of "You're So Vain" is Doug Weston. Why is the upcoming show with JT and CK billed as a "Troubador Reunion"? Mark in Sydney NP Joga - Katie Noonan PS Congratulations Lydia Lassila - the best medal haul Australia has ever received at a Winter Games. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Feb 2010 09:35:52 -0800 (PST) From: Em Subject: Re: Troubadour Reunion hi Mark, not sure, but my hunch is that "troubador" as in the Troubadour Reunion shows of Carole King and JT, refers to the 2 of them as troubadours, rather than referring to the club/venue of that name. Or? I will be seeing them in June. Can't wait! James Taylor and Carly Simon both appeared at the Troubador, but not together. Joni and James, still a couple, attended Carly's April, 1971 Troubador appearance, her first-ever in L.A., promoting her first album. I'm not certain about Joni's and Carole's appearances there, but all of this is copiously documented in *Girls Like Us. * ;-) Terra On Sun, Feb 28, 2010 at 5:26 AM, Mark-Leon Thorne wrote: > Hey Steve and Kakki, thanks for your input. Can anyone verify the following information? This post asserts that this product has alleviated Joni's Morgellon's symptons: I waited and waited until Joni actually called me to say that many of her worst symptoms had either subsided or were mostly gone. She said she was beginning to feel like herself again and that her brain fog was clearing up and she could think clearly once more. She has since bought several hundred bottles for herself. I'm assuming that this is an extremely cynical example of someone exploiting Joni's fame for the sake of peddling snake oil. http://careman.wordpress.com/2009/12/19/62/ - ----------------------------------------------------------------------Deb Messling -^..^-dlmessling@rcn.com http://www.sensibleshoes.vox.com - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Feb 2010 19:07:47 -0800 From: "Cassy" Subject: NJC - Neil Young to perform at Olympic closing ceremonies I just heard the announcer say so...
