It's been done for you, and ongoing. Have you checked out the Video section on JM.com? Almost 150 Joni, or Joni-related, videos on there! Not all are found on Youtube either. Click on "Browse The Videos" or "decade to browse" at the bottom of the page.....the 1980's is a good place to start. I'm still amazed.......and love the fact I can watch my favs over and over again. I just got an email from Ann about this, too. I realized AFTER I posted my email, and tried watching it again that it was gone. Guess the original person that posted it on YouTube removed it. Looked for another but can't find one. I had meant to download it on CD and save it awhile ago but hadn't. I'm sad it's gone because it was one of my favorites. Eventually someone who has the Japanese release of Shadows and Light may put it back up somewhere on the web and it'll be posted in the VIDEOs again. I'm crying with you!! In the spirit of "love is a story told"...."there is your song from me!" All of this talk about Howard Zinn now brings to heart and mind the Rainbow Connection day (October 27, 2007) when I *finally* met Smurf in person on Boston Common at a big anti-war rally. Jody was our chaperone (Hi Beej!) and our "shine on our witness". Howard Zinn was one of the speakers. Sweet inspiration, "with two good friends on my left and my right." (NPIMH: YU are the only one, Yu are the only one, well I'm telling Yu now...) Boston Jim Bob Murphy. "I well up with affection, thinking back down the roads to then..." I met Professor Zinn once when he came to UConn, maybe a year before that rally in Boston. The Student Union Ballroom was PACKED and people were turned away. He gave an inspiring talk, followed by lots of Q & A at the end. I then stood in line for the book signing. When it was my turn, I felt like I was in the presence of....what? A superstar? Well, right you are! He signed the book and pushed it back to me. I felt a little shy, but nevertheless asked if he would please sign my petition. He looked up at me, a little startled, and asked what it was for. I told him it was the the "Voters Pledge for Peace" sponsored by CODEPINK. (I knew he was an active member and a sponsor.) You just have to laugh cuz it's all so crazy. Me asking him to sign that is like asking Mother Teresa to sign a petition to help care for the poor. Ha! He looked it over carefully (maybe he didn't want to sign just anything, and it was the scholar/researcher in him being careful), looked up again and smiled, and then wrote (in his finest hand!): "Howard Zinn. Boston, MA" I'm looking at that piece of paper right now and it makes me a little tears and fears (that his voice is no longer with us) and feeling proud. Here is a lovely tribute to his finality, to his eterrrrrrnity: http://tinyurl.com/yen8fzz "Don't mourn, organize." Isn't that what Hana would say and do? "Hold up a white banner, in this manner", just like the one I was holding up that day so Smurf and Jody could find me, caught in a crowd. "Light the lamp!" And keep it burning... Bon weekend, Joniami(e)s! Love & Peace, Patti P, myself here, chicken-scratching for Professor Zinn's and Smurf's immortality "If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace." -- John Lennon http://www.imaginepeace.com/ _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail: Free, trusted and rich email service. http://clk.atdmt.com/GBL/go/196390708/direct/01/ ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 13:19:04 -0500 From: Stephen_Epstein@hugoboss.com Subject: Re: New management? their website still shows them as her management best Stephen in Toronto Did I see in a recent post that Joni is no longer represented by Sam Feldman and his firm? Both brands are famous for lots of value. If you are willing to pay that much, rest assured that you will be getting a lot of bang for the buck. If $1600+ is out of your price range, you could find a less expensive CD/radio/amplifier than the Arcam. Here's a $399.99 DVD/CD/Radio/Amplifier called the NAD L-54: http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NAL54 I agree that the better stereo won't bother your neighbor; it's the one-note bass from a crummy stereo that bothers neighbors. Good luck. Jim L'Hommedieu Sharon said in part, >i would like to have the smallest size speakers possible and wireless from my laptop [13" macbook pro] to the speakers.> >Arcam Solo Mini $999.00 >Paradigm Atom Speakers $318 a pair >Logitech Squeezebox $299.00 no woofer due to sound restrictions This is a beautiful sounding system but pricey. miles above the bose which was $600.00 i don't want to buy too much system for my little space. they guy assured me it would be ok. oh yeah, and the bose does not bother my neighbor downstairs, which is another concern. i'm thinking the better system wouldn't either since the bass is so much more subtle.> ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2010 12:57:52 -0800 (PST) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re: J.D. My speculation is that he did want the works to be published until after his death because he did not want to be involved in any publicity or notice upon their publication, which there most certainly would be. You can't blame anyone for being excited about the publication of any new work by him, no matter when that would be. My roommate and pal Willy turned me on to ksl.com, one of the local (SLC) TV station's website, which has a huge section devoted to dogs for sale and for free. After a few false starts and bad timing, I persisted with one dog who looked a lot like Mari, and today, we drove down to Taylorsville, ad I am now the proud papa of a jet-black purebred (pedigreed!) 4-year-old female Schnauzer whose pedigree name is Princess Stella. I may be as gay as three hummingbirds singing showtunes, but calling a dog "Princess" just isn't me. Which is where y'all and Joni sort of come in. If I'd gotten a male dog, I was gonna go for Jericho because I love the closing linnes of the song, and I considered Lindsay (Lindsey) for a boy or girl, but I understand that song is about a serial killer. So, loving Laura Nyro as well, I'm now leaning towards Emmy/Emily, one of my favorites of hers. However, I just got the lovely girl, and there's still time -- so can any of you think of a nice Joni-reference name I've missed? I've considered "Joni" itself -- might be confusing, but maybe not; and also Marcie, great song, but it's not my favorite name. Any and all suggestions will be seriously appreciated and considered.
