Seems unusual for a 20 something guy to know a song like that. That John Mayer gets around. He was just performing in Sydney last week, it seems. My work colleague took two nieces to see him. He got free tickets because his son is a friend of John's. His son is a stand up comic, working in New York. The girls got to go to his hotel with him and a bunch of people after the show. My colleague said he is a very sincere and nice person. Of the meany mentions of Joni tunes popping up here and there - this is the coolest I've heard. In line at a JM concert too! Now I just have this pleasant image in my head and I can't shake it. It makes so much sense for a rapper to cover that (like Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues). Thanks for sharing that moment. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 26 Nov 2009 09:18:18 -0600 From: Robert Procyk Subject: ben orr njc Wait, Larry worked on Ben Orr's "The Lace"????? I guess I never read the liner notes! That album is one of my favorite 80s pop gems - why "Too Hot to Stop" wasn't a smash, I'll never understand. Thanks for that!
