I have laughed and laughed and laughed. Your 'mistake' led to my moony eyed, long winded detailed account which I finally got myself to write and took some hours to put together and sent off to jonimitchell.com. I even took photos OUT of my '94 album to scan them in for the web site on Monday. I felt like I was back in Edmonton all day and night as all the memories flooded back and, of course, the full story tells of all the mistakes and irritations that led to us meeting Joni! The whole Edmonton experience in retrospect felt like a huge, wonderful cosmic joke and here, some 15 years later, I feel back in the joke again! Your 'mistake' led me back to a very special time and space. It's wonderful, to me. If you feel like an ass, what a great ass (if you'll excuse the pun)! Anita x Date: Tue, 8 Sep 2009 12:44:04 -0400 From: Susan McNamara I feel like an ass, but at least we had some great reminiscing about the Edmonton Folk Festival. My quest is to find the video/audio of her singing "Last Chance Lost" in 1993 live right before TI came out. _____ I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter . Let's see if I can have it make sense, given the Jonidiomatic logic that goes on in my head, and given that I will be interrupted about 20 times while writing this. I emailed a list of grad students (who are assisting in large classes) over to our Scheduling Office, and cc'd about a dozen people. I was rushing, and made a mistake. (Quel horreur!) I put down a professor's name instead of the grad student's name for one course. Not only that, I misspelled his first name. It is Roger. (I will change their last names.) Voila the exchange: Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2009 10:24:52 -0400 > Subject: RE: GAs for Large Classes > > The GA for FR1171 is Aurore LaFrance. Who is "Rober Lafreniere?" Sorry 'bout that! LOL....I love humor in the workplace! As Joni says: "Shine on good humor, Shine on goodwill." ; ) **** It all comes down to Joni. Now I'm laughing it all away, because some of the people who got that email are brand new to our workplace, and they are probably (chicken) scratching their heads, wondering who "Joni" is. Ha. I will be here to tell them! Maybe I should put on a workshop, for free, so I don't have to repeat myself with Joni 101 all year. Oh! While I'm writing, here's another Joni in the workplace story. As summer was winding down, and people trickled back, one workplace friend wrote to me, appropriately respectful and kind: "How was your summer? How is Joni?" I'm always looking for affection and respect, a little passion for Joni! xo, pp, heading out to Proud-headed Queen Lizzie's Curbside Cuisine quick lunch stand (Lizzie promises she will do a b/day menu on November 7th. I'll be more organized with a menu this year. Last year was election week and I was too dizzy-dancing-way-you feel to get it all together). Bon appetit!
