You are the greatest!!! I love the sea sounds on Dan Gibson's instrumental cover of Both Sides Now... soooo relaxing, take a deep breath. Something about it makes me teary eyed. Very nice! Wow... Carla Zilbersmith's cover of A Case of You. Beautiful! The cymbals capture me. Powerful to think of her keepin on keeping on with ALS. The Mockingbird More Mountains/Big Yellow Taxi reminds me of going to the Full Moon... driving through the mountains so peacefully and then coming up to the resort and getting all excited seeing who is in the parking lot. Then leaving and realizing what I've got when its gone. The whole thing makes me smile! The Hikaru Nishida cover of The Circle Game is funny to me. It could be used on a Miss America contest as they walk out and turn and go back to the line. Got me laughing good. The Heavenly Harps cover of Both Sides Now is sweet. Reminds me of being in Christian gift shops in the Ozarks. Denise Donatelli's cover of Be Cool and Adriana's cover of Woodstock are my favorites. Be Cool swing is a good way to describe it. I like the simplicity and clarity of the Woodstock cover. The link works; 2. The download works; 3. The tracks compressed without major issue. As I was listening to the Dan Gibson track yesterday and writing the review, I was thinking that it was like BSN being used as STAS given those background sounds. Interestingly, this is the 2nd time he's recorded the song; the first one was back in '98 with Roger Saint-Denis and was an extended recording featuring lots of outdoor/nature sounds, so I guess that's his thing. Glad that it brought some smiles your way. I mean it is about a major historical/musical event afterall. Also, let me not forget it has one of my actors in it--Emile Hirsch. - -Mon - --- On Tue, 9/1/09, tinkersown@ca.rr.com wrote: "Richard G." She was talking to the audience and said "For those of you who don't know, I was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease a couple of weeks ago," Zilbersmith said. "Which sucks. Because I hate baseball." Jaws dropped, laughter erupted. "I'd really much rather have been diagnosed with a basketball disease," continued Zilbersmith, known for her outrageous humor and moxie long before she got amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), the fatal neuromuscular disease that killed the Yankees slugger whose name became synonymous with it. "Maybe Wilt Chamberlain disease. That's the one where you have sex 20,000 times and then you die." Ya'll download #116. It's filled with some good covers. Thanks again Bob! I rented it from Netflix and have watched it twice now. I don't want to say much about it as I think knowing too much about this movie would spoil it. Your mind has to be as receptive and open as possible, imo, for this one to make its impact. I had an idea of what it was about but was ignorant enough to be surprised by many of the film's....I'll say nuances and leave it at that. But if anybody has seen 'Doubt' and wants to email me offlist, I am bustin' to talk about it with somebody who has seen it. I also rented 'Burn After Reading' and almost took it out of the player before it finished. I felt like I had been cheated out of an hour and 45 minutes. I guess I just don't 'get' the Coen brothers. I don't mind black humor but their particular brand of it, in some places, just strikes me as going for the shock value more than making a point. And the rest of it seems to be mostly making fun of people who are, shall we say, below the medium IQ range.
