She lives somewhere in Litchfield County, CT, and I had read somewhere that one of her kids plays/played hockey, so I was always looking for her whenever my boys had damn hockey games in her corner of the state. I'm really looking forward to her new movie about Julia Child. According to clips I've seen, she really nails her. Doctor My Ears: My Top Ten Songs Prescribed to Get you Through the Current Health Care Debate - -- David Wild The forces of evil now appear to be firmly focused on turning President Obama's attempt to reform our health care into his personal Waterloo. So let those mean-spirited bastards have "Waterloo" -- and all the other Abba tunes for the time being. In the meantime, let me write you all a prescription for my own totally Abba-free, homeopathic playlist to help get you through our ongoing health care debate. My latest estimates are that these songs will fully cover at least 97% of Americans with decent tastes in music and health care too. Celine Dion? Madonna? I guess he wants to make a lot of money before he quits this crazy scene. Even Sir Paul McCartney is only getting $69-$209 (or something like that) to play at Fenway. I paid $175 to see CSNY's Freedom of Speech 06 tour and, to me, it was worth every penny. $43.75 per legend. How much would you pay to see Joni? I know we all come from such different sets of financial circumstance. It would probably depend on my financial situation at the time and would have little to do with how badly I wanted to see her. If you don't ahve the money, you don't have the money. What gets me even more is all the surcharges you pay when you purchase through Ticket Bastard, and are there many other ways to do it? I'm sure the last ticket I bought had at least three of these - a "facility" charge (WTF?), a service charge and at least one other that sounded just like the other two but using different words, and was really just a way to add another $10-15 to the price of the ticket - so what sounds like a bargain at $70 ends up costing $100. And that probably didn't include taxes. __________________________________________________________________ Yahoo! Canada Toolbar: Search from anywhere on the web, and bookmark your favourite sites. Notable facts: Wise's catch was one for the ages. Buehrle is the most underrated great pitcher in the majors, and has been for years. Meanwhile, he's piling up some great credentials. He routinely pitches a ton of innings. Besides being a workhorse, he pitches quick and it's a pleasure to watch. The games do not drag. This was only the 18th perfect game in MLB history, including the playoffs and World Series. Buehrle joins a select group of maybe six pitchers with a perfect game plus a no-hitter (he threw one in 2007). The others are all pretty legendary and include Cy Young. This is the third game where Buehrle has faced the minimum of 27 batters. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy. All the more remarkable, this was the first game where Buehrle used this catcher (Castro). ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 23 Jul 2009 16:39:20 -0700 (PDT) From: Bob Muller Subject: Re: Njc white sox perfect game We had a sendoff for a couple of employees (not getting laid off which is nice) so I just got home.
