I remember seeing it when it aired as well. My sister, the sceptic, said they looked like the 4 Stooges, Moe, Moe, Moe & Moe. LOL! Later she bought 'Meet the Beatles' and became a fan. Up until John Lennon's comment about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus Christ. She pretty much dropped them after that. They all look so fresh and young. But I found myself thinking about what followed and the faces of their later years and their histories kept popping into my head. John especially had almost a pudgy look then. Later he became the lean, ascetic faced activist with the wire-rimmed glasses. It's still a shock to think he was shot and killed outside of his home. It still seems so senseless all these years later. And now there are only 2 of them left. Every once in a while I think about the song 'Til There Was You'. It strikes me as funny that the Beatles would have recorded a song from 'The Music Man' a broadway & film musical, and a very American musical at that. I always thought Paul did a nice job with the vocal but I seem to remember his Liverpool accent being more evident, especially on the word 'saw'. Almost like he was singing 'But I never sawr them winging, no I never sawr them at all'. But memory is a funny thing and I haven't heard the studio recording of that song in who knows how many years. So maybe I'm remembering something that never was there. That happens, you know. Thanks for the blast from the past, Patti. I absolutely love all of her albums especially the last 2 produced. I hadn't heard of her until about a month ago due to the list and wow!
