It's called "Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison" Hi Jim, Thanks for letting me know about this album. George is my favorite Beatle. I wish he would have put Dark Horse on it. While i try to recover from my trip to the UK and all the great goings-on there, I'm also trying to catch up on my mail. I see the ballet is coming to UCLA next year - anyone know the dates for this? Any, er, plans in the works? *************************************************** Steve Dulson Costa Mesa CA tinkersown@ca.rr.com "The Living Tradition Concert Series" www.thelivingtradition.org "Folk Alliance Region - West" www.far-west.org ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Jun 2009 20:13:46 -0700 From: "Randy Remote" Subject: Re: "Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison", njc Nice to see a collection of George's music, even if some of the selections seem kind of arbitrary. This is the third 'best of' , though, or fourth if you count 'best of dark horse'. These songs have all been remastered, and you can get it for ten bucks from Amazon...not bad for 19 songs. I would have put "Awaiting On You All" in there, and maybe "Apple Scruffs". Then there's "Piggies", "Savoy Truffle", "Pure Smoky", "Crackerbox Palace", "Think For Yourself", and one of his most beautiful songs "Your Love Is Forever",,, also, "Here Comes The Moon"...hmm....make it a double... Speaking of Beatles, there's an article about the Beatles Rock Band game in the new Rolling Stone...especially interesting that Giles Martin (son of George M) found a way to separate the instruments using digital technology on the old songs that were originally recorded without separate tracks, if you know what I mean...pretty fascinating that something like that could be done. RR ps Have you ever heard Weird Al's parody of "Got My Mind Set On You"? "This song is just Six Words Long, this song is just Six Words Long"....it's a crack-up. >Apparently, there's never been a hits collection from George Harrison, > until today.
