Wow, just read this article and found out we're going to be working on another ballet with Joni in the near future!! I hadn't even heard about this around the office, I guess Jean spilled the beans pretty good. :-) Very excited about this. I was sad thinking our Joni period was over, now there's more to look forward to. There's a lot about Elton and then Joni collab news closer to the end of the article. http://www.calgaryherald.com/entertainment/tireless+work+Jean+Grand+Mait re/1572292/story.html NJC notes - Didn't end up getting to go to the Poisson Rouge and see some Joni List folks in New York as I had hoped, though thank you for the heads up.. alas I was at the mercy of those we were visiting (my boyfriend's sister and her man). We even walked past it in our travels the same night. Went to a sort of sullen back room of a place called Art Bar and made idle conversation instead. Central Park was beautiful though, and full of surprises (a castle! literary statues! A zoo! etc). Why can't every city dedicate a huge swatch of green to nature recreation? Calgary's full of giant holes for buildings that might not get built. Let's fill them in with dirt and make them into gardens. Who's got a hoe? Also, just got a copy of the Hits book for piano-vocal-chords. Unlike the Anthology book, this one shows you how to do Joni's unusual tunings. Some nice Joni pics too! She's got a super awesome outfit with a scarf sash thing going on, and seems very amused to have been run down by a little white auto. But I wish she wouldn't lie on the road like that, it's making me nervous! "Currently, Mitchell is putting the final touches on her director's cut edit of the revised The Fiddle and the Drum film."Once that's done, we're supposed to work together again, in June or July." That project will likely draw mainly on Mitchell's Blue and/or Prairie Girl albums, Grand-Maitre says."She's thinking, too, a lot of her songs are portraits of people, so she's thinking of doing a series of portraits, as a love story."" A Joni soap opera ballet! > Also, just got a copy of the Hits book for piano-vocal-chords. Unlike > the Anthology book, this one shows you how to do Joni's unusual tunings. > Some nice Joni pics too! Yes, there is one for Misses, too. FTR book is long out of print, but has the real chords...jm dot com is the best resource for that.
