What Willie is saying in his posts is semantically and grammatically correct for the most part, but makes no sense. I would be happy to hear a straightforward explanation as well but, without that, the feeling I have from reading them is actually pretty creepy and sounds borderline stalkerish to me. Yo, Couldn't we all be considered stalkers on this list? Or is the more acceptable label for us and our obsession with Joni, "Joniphiles?" As for clarity of content, I sometimes wonder what the hell people are talking about in posts too. I don't find Willie particularly difficult to understand. In regard to the discussion of Willie's mental state... LOLLL ya'll crack me up! I hope Willie finds it humorous too. Reminds me of the group called "Concerned Women for America." Have to fix LGBT people; save us from ourselves and America from us! There are numerous possible physical conditions, not limited to those of the brain, that determine how not only Willie but how each of us posts and perceives others' posts. To suspect somebody might have a particular mental condition and then discuss it publicly on-list seems inappropriate and potentially offensive regardless of how good one's intentions are. It can end up being a form of gossiping about the person while they are listening in the near distance... a cold cut for sure. I enjoy Willie's posts a lot. I hope he will keep posting. People discussing mental health and the need to de-stigmatize mental "illness" is quite different from people discussing, out of ignorance and fear, their desire to change others' lives.* There are numerous possible physical conditions, not limited to those of the brain, that determine how not only Willie but how each of us posts and perceives others' posts. I think anyone who posts the sort of things he did is obviously wanting attention of some sort. And Willie didn't seem particularly fazed by it. His response to me was: "Sir, [sic] go play with your Barbie doll."* I enjoy Willie's posts a lot. I hope he will keep posting. *If you enjoy reading that Willie co-wrote and was the sole inspiration for all of The Hissing of Summer Lawns (or was it Hejira?) after he spent one memorable night with Ms. Mitchell, and that she is a bad person for having betrayed him so, that probably says more about your grip on reality than it does Willie's. * ** *Apologies to the List--this IS the last you'll hear from me about Mr. Yanock.* Love, Dr. Laura - -- Alas, the rich are always with us. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2009 00:47:38 -0500 From: T Peckham Subject: Re: JoniMitchell.com wants you Me too. :-) On Tue, Mar 10, 2009 at 10:06 PM, Michael Flaherty wrote: > I don't have anything to add beyond joining the chorus: great job Les and > everyone else involved. > > Michael F. > - -- Alas, the rich are always with us. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Mar 2009 17:15:08 +1100 From: Mark-Leon Thorne Subject: Re: jonimitchell.com wants you I'd like to just add my congratulations to you, Les and all who contributed to the new site. On first viewing, it looks totally professional and very cool. Love the colours. Not sure about Joni's signature though. I just have one criticism though. I'd like to see the news in its own section rather than on the main page. On the main page, I'd like to see a brief biography of Joni by way of introducing her to those less familiar. I haven't thoroughly checked out the whole site yet but, I think it's essential to include all the information that Bob Muller has gathered. This is valuable stuff for anyone doing any kind of research or trying to trace rare recordings. I did like the cute title of "Under Cover" too. Mark in Sydney PS Les, let me know if you still need mp3s or any other file conversions done.
