I'm one of 3 official photographers that capturing this unique event. Thursday marks 5 weeks until we depart for Kathmandu, and head up Mount Everest to attempt this world record. If you haven't heard about it or read about it in the news it's a game of Twenty20 Cricket at Gorak Shep which is a plateau at 16,945 ft (5165m) above sea-level. The latest and exciting news: ITN are sending a news crew up with us! While we are trekking up Mt Everest to Base Camp we will be on both the 6pm news and the 10pm news so you can catch up with our progress to see if we actually make set the record (and of course get up that mountain!) Were putting together a mailing list for people who would be interested in receiving updates about the trip. All this is really going to be is two, possibly three newsletters which well keep to two sides of A4, hopefully less, and email updates when were away. If you're interested in receiving these updates, please let me know so that you can be added to the mailing list. In the lead up to departure, I hope you've been checking my blog regularly. You can also visit the expedition website for details of our trek (including our route), and regular updates. My blog is http://jamiezubairi.blogspot.comand the homepage for this attempt is http://www.cricketoneverest.com . Please check them out. Finally, if you're feeling generous, please feel free to donate via my Just Giving page. I have pledged to raise a minimum of #2000 for Sir Edmund Hillary's own charity - The Himalayan Trust, and would really appreciate any support you can offer. You can do so quite easily via http://www.justgiving.com/zooby I have already paid over #2000 of my own costs, including trekking permits and equipment, protective clothing and flights, and have committed countless hours of quite intensive training to ensure that hopefully I will be able to complete what is going to be an amazing experience. If you have any questions, please let me know. Alternatively, sign up for the newsletters by simply replying to this email and providing your confirmation. Please feel free to forward this on to any friends, family or workmates you think might be interested in our attempt. Oh, apols if you also get this message via facebook as well! On May 16th, I will be participating in a walk for Multiple Sclerosis in Cleveland, OH. MS is or can be a devastating disease for which there is no cure. There are treatments, some more successful for one person than the next, but no cure. In addition to the walk, I will be doing some fundraising for the event.. If anyone would like to donate any amount, please email me privately. I have a secure way for it to be done, right through my participant page for the MS walk.
