Please forgive me, jmdl'ers. I read my posts every day & would not knowingly sent such a post. I love Joni - can you tell by me e-mail address ? And I love it that there is a community of like minded folks, for instance, that quote Joni on a daily basis, or seem to have a lyric of hers that pops into mind for any occasion. Sorry. Perhaps I haven't had enough coffee today. If only she were that experimental and groundbreaking. I wonder why she never did that? It would've turned that album from a jazz album into a bold step into sampling and perhaps brought house music and World Music forward a few years. She would've incorporated the changing rhythms really cleverly as only she could and maybe overlaid it with a moog or something like that. Bettye Lavette and Jon Bon Jovi did a duet of 'A Change is Gonna Come' that was amazing. Mary J. Blige was also riveting singing 'Lean on Me'. And Springstein's performance of 'The Rising' backed by an enormous choir was downright inspiring. Hope is alive in the world. That in itself is encouraging. The last 8 years have felt so hopeless.
