I, too, thought the term Joe six pack made reference to ab muscles. That said, Lama makes an interesting point from his view in that a six pack also refers to beer, which does often come in six packs. A wonderful, touching brilliant work that I recommend to all. Celebrates the extraordinary in "ordinary" people and life events. Hard to put into words, the impact of something so simple and sweet. thank you Jerry for the note about the show. Another brilliant one is the Namesake. The book is fantastic and rarely does a film based on a book move me to the similar extent. Loved it, loved it. Subtle and strong and wonderful! Just like being at a Joni Fest...surrounded by wonderful kindred spirits, with no need to explain ;-) http://www.hughsroom.com/ love, Mags, who is doing a lot of posting here today yikes ;--) i exist as i am, that is enough ~walt whitman~ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? A little bird (sweet bird, you are!) told me it is Cassy's birthday. So, Cassysweet, this post's for you! Did you know that on some calendars of our lives, October 18th is called "The Sweetest Day"? (I don't know the origin of that...) The first time ever I saw your face (TIC! it seems like many dim years ago since I've you seen you face to face, but tonight I can feel you here), you were sitting in the lounge of the Empire (Park Central in NYC ) Hotel. You were handing out those beautiful Joni/JMDL/Carnegie Hall pins you had crafted so lovingly, encased in little ruby-colored gossamer-wing sacks. That was some Night in the City! Thank you for all the gifts you have given me and everyone else on this list. And of course, the gift of your extra time when you share some musical knowledge/experience or even just your validating sig file. And now (both sides now), if only you would put SHINE on your iPod! Come ON! Then we can laugh at how your perfection will never be denied. ; ) It is also Laura Nyro's birthday, so shine on both of you. And, you know there may be more. My twin nephews in CA, who turn 18 today. "I'm eighteen and I LIKE IT Yes I like it Oh I like it Love it Like it Love it Eighteen!" And shine on all the Alice Cooper fans, to whom I honestly never meant any disrespect. I did not word that at *all* properly (it was very late when I walked in, my talking as it rambled revealed suspicious reasoning), so I send my regrets, coyotes. Shine on everyone, 'neath the cover of October skies. It's a marvelous night for a moondance! With affection and respect, a little passion, Patti P. NPOMTV: Red Sox 2, Tampa Bay 1. Go Sox! They "went to Florida" to carry on. Hello, all you sun-dappled Floridians! And hello to SoB and all you other Boston Jims. I hope you all had some enchanted evening chez Ashara. I wish I could have joined you, but I had some enchanted evening of my own (previously-planned) w/ Willy and David. OMG. I can't even write about it now. They were in the ZONE and so was the whole audience...me here, not least, but most of all! Maybe I can write a review later after the rush, when I come back down.
