Jim remains.... a lovely lovely man, had the privilege of meeting and sharing in a lot of wonderful stories, and laughter, at Jonifest and beyond. A tender, loving man, with a big heart. Jim has left his legacy via the Joni Mitchell dot com as well as those of us who met him and grew to love him, here, there and every where. To make this even more personal, Jim was one of the lovely ones from this list who was kind and so supportive in my time of need, when my brother Dave died. (so many of you were). It's impossible to believe, but time does have a way of moving forward, despite the fact that you think it should not, cannot considering the weight of loss and grief. But life does move on and you live, yes you live knowing that your life has been touched by someone as lovely and kind as Jim. Lucy and I were just talking about him and laughing about his little plays at the Joni fest. He had the courage to get up there in front of all of us, and share his little melodies and made us laugh so much. . Jim, and I know you're reading this, thanks, my heart is lifted knowing you and Wally Breese are together again, at last. Give my love to Dave, too. I know you will. and Jim, thanks for the little gifts you sent. love love Mags __________________________________________________________________ Connect with friends from any web browser - no download required. Hi Marion, while quirky would not be my first adjective of choice to describe Joni's songs (its meaning tends to imply a bit of lightheartedness) in some ways the adjective is fitting but I wouldn't say it is a word that is used derogatively but rather is more neutral. Kate >I get the feeling that while some of you assign positive meanings to the term, it is usually used derogatively. I am correct? Anyhow, I don't like the sound of it so I think I would prefer to use other words to describe Joni's songs. I was talking to one of JB's sidemen at mutual friends b'day party a few weeks ago who said he'd lived in Spain for awhile & was thinking of moving back. I didn't realize JB also had a place over there. JB also has a place up here, an incredible ranch up here on the coast. Pretty good lifestyle I'd say. And -- thanks to the support of caring people like you -- millions of potential voters in St. Louis, Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Colorado, Northern Virginia and Wisconsin are learning the truth about Governor Palins brutal support for aerial killing of wolves and other wildlife. Since yesterday, weve met our goal as more than 3,700 people contributed money to help us secure the resources we needed to put our hard-hitting TV ad on the air before and after the debate! But we cant and wont stop fighting when tonights debate ends. If elected, Governor Palin would be just a heartbeat away from the presidency. It is essential that American voters know the truth about Governor Palins support for needless aerial killing of wildlife and her reckless disregard for Americas natural treasures. If you havent done so yet, please contribute whatever you can to help us keep this ad on the air after the vice presidential debate and let more Americans know about her brutal record! Together, we can win for Americas wildlife. Thanks so much for helping! **** _________________________________________________________________ Want to do more with Windows Live? I just love the music and lyrics.I can relate to this character. Sometimes I feel just like her. My other favourite character is the narrator in Two Grey Rooms. A Fassbinder short story, I believe, further transformed by Joni's artistic sensibility. I love everything about this song. One of Joni's last great piano songs (if not THE last) until the appearance of Shine.
