"Shine" songbook. While the artwork doesn't add anything to what was in the album packaging -- strange since I'd just made note of how expansion of the art and photography was a hallmark of these songbooks, I guess the Ballet and "Green Flag Song" forced some priority -- it seems all about the music, anyway. There are correct open tuning charts and the piano transcriptions are simply, gorgeous. I spent both evenings ignoring wild card races and TV galas with a cool breeze wafting through the windows while I blended those beautiful chords with crickets' late season courtship. "Bad Dreams" impresses me more with its stunning Pink Floyd vibe. The success of that film has been a blessing & a curse depending on who you are. Unfortunately it created a reality that didn't exist before- tourists coming to the area, not just for the wine, but to party & get drunk. What a surprise & welcome revelation to realize that there was a much deeper vein to Music City than what first meets the eye (or ear). Kate >"Q:What helps you deal with personal adversities? A: There is a song by Leonard Cohen, and I have these lyrics posted everywhere: "Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." It means take what you are dealt. I'm also writing a new book, and it is basically ruminations on what to do when bad things happen.< ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2008 17:22:22 -0700 (PDT) From: Catherine McKay Subject: Re: njc, Elizabeth Edwards' Leonard Cohen quote - --- On Mon, 9/22/08, Kate Bennett wrote: "Ring the bells that still can ring. Those lines by themselves make up a perfect little poem that sums up an idea very succinctly. And it rhymes too. Kate, I don't remember if you were the first to post them or not but, to whoever it was, thanks for that. I'm going to steal these lines as a mantra. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 23 Sep 2008 10:43:55 +0700 From: do9eatdo9@yahoo.com Subject: Birthday, njc Hey, today is Mr.Muller's birthday.
