Of course, my copies of Court & Spark would probably be my most favorite actual Joni treasures, being my favorite album. But I agree with Smurf that some of my experiences at past JoniFests (meeting & talking to other fans, listening to them perform) are certainly very important "Joni Treasures" to me. And, on that note, I'd have to say my most treasured Joni (fest) item is the 8 x 10 photo of me, with Anita & Steph, shot in the forest by the waterfall (down the road from Full Moon) that is one of the best photos I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot !). I can't remember if we set Anita's camera up on a rock, with the self-timer to shoot it) or if Bob Muller took that photo with Anita (or Steph's) camera. If anyone would like to see it, I could scan it & send you a .jpg (with Anita & Steph's permission, of course). From what I could find quickly, it appears Ms. Davies took photos, but did not shoot film. folklife.si.edu/resources/Center/Archives/Finding_Aids/*DianaDavies*/*Diana* _*Davies*_Photograph_Collection_Finding_Aid.pdf If you google her, you can view this link in HTML, but I'm not sure the photo of her (fairly recent) will show up. I realized that in order for me to talk like a pirate I would have to study the lingo. ;) All I thought of was to send one of Warren Zevon's "pirate" song lyrics which seem so appropriate for today instead. Here goes: Mutineer Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum Hoist the main sail---here I come Ain't no room on board for the insincere You're my witness I'm your mutineer I was born to rock the boat Some may sink but we will float Grab your coat---let's get out of here You're my witness I'm your mutineer Long ago we laughed at shadows Lightening flashed and thunder ~followed us~ It could never find here You're my witness I'm your mutineer We were born to rock the boat Some are sinking but we're floating I'm y'all's witness Y'all are my mutineers Merci', my fellow shipmates for everything... The other night when we finished the first night of our Down By The River Tour, we went back to the hotel bar (oh quil supreeeze) and the lady was very nice and we talked about all kinda things and that we were looking for acoustic music clubs etc. and then she started telling us about her husband Larry Klein. We had a huge laugh about that cause Kevin had just told her I was a slut for Joni. Larry and his son (a bass player) are coming to the show tonight. Can't wait to meet them. Ft. Collins has been a gas. I love it here. Hoping to see Les tomorrow and going to Estes Park in the morning to see the old hotel where they shot the movie The Shining. Have a great weekend everyone. Best Paz NP-The Atom-Ani P.S. I got the new Jonatha Brooke and I love it. She found some really cool Woody Guthrie lyrics in the Guthrie Archives and out them to music. Lots of guests on the album. Check it out! Also just got the new Marc Broussard album but have not listened to it yet. Choo Choo Ch'Boogie! Great music video here for swing lovers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJW67YfLWgs Dontcha just love it? My favorite local band Eight to the Bar (Hi Smurf!) played this one (with the original lyrics, of course) at my wedding, and it was also covered by Asleep at the Wheel (Hi RR!) and many many more. It was written in 1946, I think. (Whoa, Muller, now we're going wayyyy back!) It's such a fun song. I also remember singing it with Mary as we were dragging our valises through the New Haven train station (TIC! ...master's shuffling cards...) and boarding the train for the Joni Tribute at Carnegie Hall and getting ready to settle down into the clickety clack, filled with such excitement and anticipation. (Just had to share that. Songs are like tattoos, as you know.) Headin' for the station with a pack on my back, I'm tired of transportation in the back of hack, I love to hear the rhythm of the clickity clack, And hear the lonesome whistle, see the smoke from the stack, And pal around with democratic fellows named Mac; So, take me right back to the track, Jack! Choo choo, choo choo, ch'boogie! Woo woo, ooh ooh, ch'boogie! Choo choo, choo choo, ch'boogie! Take me right back to the track, Jack! Segues into (imh): Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again Go Obama! Thanks to BS from SS for sharing this, and Happy Friday, everyJonibody! Love, Patti P., whose wedding matches (remember getting matches at those ceremonies of the bells and lace in the old days?) were imprinted with: "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing." (Wow. I didn't have Joni lyrics? What was I thinking????) _________________________________________________________________ Want to do more with Windows Live?
